BARTLOMIEJ ANTONIEWSKI PIPES-CARVING STUDIO
My name is Bartlomiej Antoniewski. I was born on 17 May 1961 in Przemysl; the Capital of Polish Pipe.
The choice of my career was determined by my fascination with briar; its beauty and the variety of grain and sculptural opportunities it offers for carving pipes. I have been making briar pipes, accessories and miniature briarwood sculptures since 1984.
From 1985 to 1986 I worked under Ryszard Filar -a well- known and highly regarded master craftsman, creating new models of carved pipes.
The skill there aquired helped me in establishing my own business in 1989. In this way I contribute to continuing nearly a hundred-year-long tradition of pipe craftsmanship in the town of Przemysl.
Besides classic shapes, the pipes I offer include those decorated with animal and floral motifs as well as abstract and geometrical forms and motifs to do with hunting. There is also a possibility of ordering a pipe crafted on the basis of the customer's own drawings.
I specialize in customized portrait pipes based on photographs. [Just send a photograph and you receive a copy, carved on your new pipe]
The pipes are made from Mediterranean briar, while mouthpieces are made from acrylic, cumberland and ebonite.
